Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Cricket Live: Scores & Alerts (“Cricket Live,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with our iOS app, Android app, and website at cricketlive.org (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
No account required
Cricket Live does not require you to create an account to use the Service. If you don’t sign in, we do not ask for your name, email address, or password, and your preferences are associated with your device, not with a personal identity.
Optional account
The mobile app offers an optional sign-in, using email and password, Google, or Apple. If you choose to create an account, we store the information your sign-in method gives us — typically your email address and display name. Signing in does not connect to the favourites, follows, or push token stored for your device; those remain device-linked whether or not you’re signed in.
You can update your display name, email, or password, or permanently delete your account, at any time from My Profile in the app. Deleting your account removes your sign-in credentials immediately and cannot be undone; it does not delete the separate device data described above — see our Data Deletion page for that.
Information we collect
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications in the mobile app, Firebase Cloud Messaging issues a device registration token. We store this token and your platform (iOS or Android) so we can deliver alerts for the matches, teams, and players you follow.
- Your preferences. The matches you favourite and the teams and players you follow are stored so we can power your alerts and personalise your experience. These are linked to your device, not to your identity.
- Account information (optional). If you sign in, we store your email address, display name, and authentication details via Firebase Authentication. Signing in with Google or Apple shares the profile information those providers give us under their own privacy policies.
- Advertising data. The mobile app is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Google’s advertising SDK may collect a device advertising identifier and limited usage data to serve and measure ads. See Google’s policies below.
- Technical data collected automatically. Like most online services, our servers and infrastructure providers log standard technical information such as IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and request timestamps for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.
Information we do not collect
Unless you choose to create an account or email us for support, we do not collect your name or email address. We never collect precise location, contacts, or photos, and we do not sell your personal information.
How we use information
- To deliver live scores, fixtures, commentary, and news.
- To send the notifications you have opted into for followed matches, teams, and players.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To display advertising that keeps the app free.
Third-party services
We rely on the following processors, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications. Firebase privacy.
- Google Firebase Authentication — powers the optional account sign-in (email/password, and, if you choose them, Google and Apple). Firebase privacy.
- Google AdMob — serves ads in the mobile app. Google advertising.
Live scores, statistics, and news headlines are sourced from third-party cricket data and news providers and are shown for informational purposes.
Data retention
We keep your device token and preferences for as long as your device stays registered with the Service. Uninstalling the app or disabling notifications stops new data collection, and you may request deletion of stored data at any time. If you created an account, we keep it until you delete it from My Profile in the app, which happens immediately.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, India’s DPDP Act, or the California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information, and to object to certain processing. You can disable notifications in your device settings at any time, and reset or limit ad personalisation through your device’s advertising settings. To request access or deletion, see our Data Deletion page or contact us.
Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
